Get Old and Cherish the Gifts
Computoid: Me and my Curiosities
There is no doubt that almost every person on Earth celebrates the day they were popped out into life. Their happiness and the values though, depends on the amount of people who actually cared for their birthdays. Some might buy gifts for themselves, and some might gather the whole family tree to celebrate such parties.
For myself, I used to consider birthdays to be a day to be somewhat proud of. On that day, I always look back on the things I used to do and see how much development I have been through to achieve such progress in life. I always see birthdays as days which I will acknowledge the current and future milestones that awaits me. In my country, when you’re 18 years old, you are considered to be wise enough to take care of yourself and might be able to leave the bird’s nest and find your best method to take care of yourself and your love ones. You might be able to find a job or passion in life. You are mature. You can pick up ladies or drive cars legally. Which I think is very terrifying. Yes, being mature is terrifying. Why? Well, you have to begin to understand every little things and collect all the experience to actually live through life without mistakes.
Even though birthdays are days that you celebrate your anniversary of aging, there seem to an obscure, but dark truth behind it. You are getting closer to becoming an adult, or an elder. Which really takes on a different role. There is no doubt that you can’t be a kid forever and so is being alive. Existentially speaking, birthdays are days you get closer to death.
