At Dusk: Chapter 5
My Fictional Stories
A few hours later Amanda arrived on AISC grounds. She checked out of hotel only hours earlier. Whole dang hotel was irritating. When she checked in nobody was at the reception desk, so she had to check in with the security guard. At least he was nice. The only staff available was the bot who wanted to sell mediocre cleaning products. Oh, how the days have changed. Once the conference was over the hotel bus, yes there were such things as hotel buses, ran out of battery so she had to walk. She was done with conferences. As soon as she was contacted by management she rushed out of that hell hole.
“The dang hotel man,” Amanda ended her rant. “I paid to be serviced, not ignored”
“Mm-hmm”, miss V replied and asked, “Can you help me finish this?”
“Okay, but I thought we were done the day before.”
“Not yet. There are a few issues left. Just help me with this.”
The rest of the day the duo spent on manual configuration and tests. It was the most productive day both of them had ever spent and it led to the single most important invention in human history. Well, if you don’t count any of the primitive initial ones. If you do, this was probably the third most important invention. Nobody ever thinks this through so everyone accepts the former as fact. Neither one knew this of course because they were not there when their invention changed the world.
